Cleveland Municipal School District-Department of Arts Education 

Situation: In partnership with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum, VMI assisted the Cleveland Municipal School District’s Department of Arts Education with their All-City Musical and Rock Your World! events. 

Action: The All-City Musicals were popular musicals that utilized the talent of all students within the school district. Musicals included Guys & Dolls, Dreamgirls, and The Tenth Anniversary Celebration. We garnered publicity, created branding and promotional materials and assisted with community attendance. Our methods and procedures are still being used for these annual events that promote the importance of arts education in Cleveland public schools. 

Rock Your World! With STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) is an annual event that showcases the musical talents of the Cleveland public school students. There were bands, orchestras, choirs, musical ensembles, drum lines, and high steppers. 

We secured broadcast television and radio performances and interviews for the students and director. We also spearheaded mini performances to encourage excitement around the event.

Outcomes: The event’s attendance grew as new communities and organizations were targeted for awareness and participation.
